A baby Giraffe named Hasani was born at the Woodland Zoo, WA with a condition known as hyperextended fetlocks, commonly seen in horses where their fetlocks have dropped. They had applied casts to the affected rear legs after she was born. The zoo had called upon a team of experts to help the baby giraffe. An equine foot specialist from Kentucky made a pair of therapeutic shoes for him and my mentor, Lola Michelin applied kinesiology tape, specifically Equi-Tape! The tape was made to stay on for several weeks to support and stimulate his legs.
